We won’t work with you like anyone else.

Every Facti Machina engagement combines custom tools, on-call research, and documented methodology. What differs is how deep, how exclusive, and on your cadence.

How we engage

Most relationships start with a specific problem:
a research workflow that is eating the day, a book that has outgrown its tools, or a CIO who wants AI in the stack without turning their team into prompt engineers.

Facti Machina begins there. One scoped project to solve a real challenge—often a Research Workflow Audit or a Portfolio Intelligence Environment for a single strategy—so you can see how AI‑enabled research performs in your world.

If the work delivers what you need, we extend the relationship: ongoing support on key projects, and for a select few firms, an exclusive partnership where we become your embedded research infrastructure partner.

We keep the number of active relationships intentionally small. That lets us stay close to your process, move quickly when something hits, and protect the edge that comes from having tools built around your book instead of the market in general.

Tier I

Project Work

Cadence Scoped engagement, defined deliverable
Exclusivity None required
Fits when You want to see how we work before committing further, or you have a specific scoped need (event analysis, methodology documentation, fund launch prep)

What it includes

A defined scope with a clear deliverable and a hard timeline. Either one of our two named entry offers (below), or a custom project shaped around your specific situation.

Tier III

Exclusive Partnership

Cadence Continuous engagement with stated response-time commitments
Exclusivity Hard sector and strategy exclusivity — contractually
Fits when Your edge depends on research the market doesn't have, and you want to make sure we're not building something similar for anyone else

What it includes

Everything in Ongoing Support, plus deeper involvement in your investment process. Faster event response. Custom development included. White-labeled work where appropriate. We take a maximum of four to six clients at this tier at any time.

Our two entry offers

How most new client relationships start.

These are the two scoped engagements we recommend first. Both give you a real look at how we work, on a real piece of your portfolio, with a deliverable you keep regardless of what happens next.

What we do

We map your current research process end to end. Where AI could realistically help. How event response actually flows today. What's documented and what lives in someone's head. Where the soft-dollar audit risk sits.

What you receive

A written report — 15 to 25 pages, sourced and structured — with prioritized recommendations, plus a one-hour debrief.

Why it works

It's paid discovery for both sides. You find out what's possible without committing to a build. We find out whether your book is a fit for the kind of work we do best.

What we do

We learn your universe and your decision process. We design and build a custom AI environment trained on your specific names. We connect it to the tools you already use, document everything, and seed it with initial research so it's useful from day one.

What you receive

The working tool, a methodology document, a sourcing standards document, a user guide, and the option to add ongoing maintenance.

Why it works

This is the build that shows what's actually possible when AI is shaped around one specific portfolio instead of sold to everyone. It's the engagement our anchor client started with.

Note I

On pricing.

We don't publish prices for the same reason institutional research firms don't publish prices1: every engagement is built around a specific portfolio, and the right price is the one that reflects the value of that outcome — not a standardized rate card.

We share specifics in conversation, after we understand what you actually need. We do not negotiate against ourselves2, but we do shape scope to fit serious budgets.

Note II

On compliance and soft dollars.

Our work is built to qualify for soft dollar payment under Section 28(e)3 where you, as the investment manager, make that determination in good faith. We help by producing documentation that works for your broker's records and your CCO's review.

Research deliverables, scoped analysis, security and sector work, and methodology documentation generally fit cleanly under 28(e). Custom tool builds are more nuanced and often work better as hard dollar engagements, sometimes with a soft dollar maintenance component4. We will work with your broker and your CCO to figure out the right structure for each engagement.

We do not tell clients whether their specific situation qualifies. That's their call, with their compliance team. We make the documentation make sense regardless.

Engagements begin with a conversation, not a contract.
